--you have to search for clients just to charge them dirt cheap prices? doesnt sound like a good use of your time then
28 Jan 15:09
--having to actively search out for basically animal porn gigs that only pay lunch for like 3 days..lowest of the barrel
28 Jan 15:05
--yea the place im at is a very cheap vacation spot, likes its the cheapest place to go on the east cost, so naturally all the tourists are there because theyr not looking to spend a lot of money
28 Jan 15:04
--On caricatures: I've seen some skilled public artists doing work usually 30 bucks
28 Jan 15:03
--furries are basically naked animal human hybrids and that one in the image took about an hour altogether
28 Jan 15:02
--If you have to factor design into the character art then the price is ridiculous
28 Jan 15:00
--Question, is the character generator close to what a AD brief looks like? Or something similar to the Chows on ca?
28 Jan 14:57
--i was doing caricatures for like 10 bucks that were inked and it was hard getting anyone to even pay that. not that Im great at caricatures but the general public dont want to pay jack shit for what they see as a simple drawing
28 Jan 14:52
--yes individuals it a sub culture thing. i got one gig from craigslist almost as soon as i posted ut but they wanted me to come down on the sketch price..
28 Jan 14:47
--so who commissions furries? Just individuals right? I cant imagine a company needing images of cat ladies showing their birth canals
28 Jan 14:36
--thought i would atleast try. one of the forums has a 12 hour waiting for posting in the artist services thread -_-
28 Jan 14:33
--these furry forums dont make it easy for artists..also are my prices too low? http://i.imgur.com/4WbYy31.jpg

--Basically, if the question is "how to work for applibot", there's a specific non-philosophical answer (or several of them, but I hope you know what I mean)
28 Jan 11:39
--Guys, I agree with you:) I'm just saying that if you "aim for applibot" at one point of your journey (which shouldn't end at "aiming for applibot"), you might consider "applibotting yourself" in order to get that job as soon as possible. If that's your wish. Of course you are going to aim higher and you're going to develop the style and the inclination towards what you love.
28 Jan 11:35
--When you are as good as those guys, you don't come to applibot, applibot comes to you. But at that point you don't really aim for applibot, you reached that level long ago:)
28 Jan 11:33
--But there are tens of applibot guys that are their backbone mid tier and they are insanely skilled.
28 Jan 11:32
--By "let you do it" I mean call you first and beg you to illustrate their cards:D
28 Jan 11:32
--Ah, yes, if you are Dave or Ruan Jia or someone like that, you would sell that card by being yourself, so they would gladly let you do it
