It's alright for me, though, I over ride my imagination on his voice. What bugs me more is slurred, fuzzy, or heavily accented readings.

"old british guy impersonate a woman" <--- lol, Libre Vox?

I listen to non fiction on audiobook, but not fiction. I feel like the tone of voice interfears with my visualization of what's going on. Plus, I can't here what the characters sound like in my mind, vs hearing an old british guy impersonate a woman ;\

haha, never thought of it that way, like a virtual pub conversation. Maybe it's that fact that it is a conversation so we can relate better, like we're at the table too, just listening

23 Jan 11:34

Doolio

but with actual talk stuff, it's different. Maybe it's that fake socializing feel, you know, like "oh, I am at the pub with some people" and I can literally practice forever in that atmosphere that some art podcast creates.

23 Jan 11:34

Doolio

which kinda beats the purpose of said book:)

Ah, yes, either I go like "omg I have to do something like call someone or something like that" or I get completely into the drawing and I have absolutely no idea what the book was all about for like the last three hours:)

but... 50% of the time I zone the audio book out after a while anyway....

I use audio books to catch up on books I'd like to read but can't be bothered to carve out time for :P

does anybody use audiobooks? It was the only way I could finish "death by black hole"

oh haha I don't pay attention to the images. :p I usually have it minimized to avoid distraction - and I always listen to movies I have already watched. By now. I can remember most of the dialogue in V for Vendetta for example hahah

"It's moving!" *stares* ... "Wait, what? The dinner's over!?"

23 Jan 10:46

I'm pretty horrible when it comes to paying attention to a moving image AND anything else at the same time, like a freakin baby

23 Jan 10:45

meat

Ursula: I love documentaries, but if it has moving image, I cannot stop being distracted, lol

23 Jan 10:45

meat

Doolio: I know that feel. Went through very similar phase with background sound too. There are also days where nothing seems to work, and I just have to do stuff in silent turmoil until this mysterious annoyance wears off

I like listening to documentaries and movies too. But I still use music too (and I love podcasts. A thread for our faves is a must!)

23 Jan 10:43

We should have a thread to keep links of podcast and talk stuff to listen to while working

Oh yeah like rainfall and shit. I watched the livestream with Dan and Jaan and got drawn into the story, helped my workflow.Anyways Im off to sleep now, its 2 am and tomorrow's school.

23 Jan 10:03

Doolio

Yeah, it's kinda strange, I mean, I could draw to the music earlier. I even had a period when I would draw to those nature sounds stuff. Now I just get into some kind of pointless restlesness and can't focus that much. While if I'm listening to some art talk stuff, I get in some kind of "interaction" with it and I can go for hours and hours

23 Jan 10:03

In some vids theres music for a good hour or 2, but then they get talking and telling stories.

I'll check if there are some hidden gems in Dan's stream library then lol
