Lyraina, try putting on more sweaters. When you don't have enough body heat your body tries to huddle it all in your core to keep your immune system up. I have poor circulation and stacking sweaters makes my body have enough heat that it sends enough to my hands and feet : )

Lyraina: maybe sit on them a while, or bring up your core's temperature with a warm vest. I can ask my classmate from Russia or Norway what they do?

coffee, tea, ginger, other herbs, and alcohol briefly solves the cold fingers; physical exercise solves it for longer duration

it's more to do with circulation, fingerless gloves aren't too effective, unfortunately

Lyraina

maybe some of those fingerless gloves could help

11 Jan 07:34

Lyraina

yeah, I'm one of those cold-fingered people too, but normally I don't really mind.. but it's annoying while painting

11 Jan 07:29

i get complaints from people saying my hands are too cold all the time lol. i think its a circulation thing

11 Jan 07:25

Lyraina

I don't want to heat up the whole room just because my fingers grow cold all the time :/

11 Jan 07:25

Lyraina

speaking of wrists, does anyone else have the problem of hands/fingers growing really cold (and as a result stiff) while painting?

sounds like ridiculous commerical gym personal trainer theories to me. back when i was doing strongman and powerlifting stuff i was always taught that basic exericses are the most effective, especially full body movements like squats and deadlifts. i never did any "grip exercises" back then but i can assure you my wrists were strong just from pulling and pushing large amounts of weight. and from my personal experience i think that bodyweight exercises such as push ups and dips are also effective. just my opinion though

not your forearm, not trying argue just pointing it out. yea you work grip strength with pull ups but that only works extensor muscles not flexor or the forearm
