11 Jan 07:29
--i get complaints from people saying my hands are too cold all the time lol. i think its a circulation thing
11 Jan 07:25
--I don't want to heat up the whole room just because my fingers grow cold all the time :/
11 Jan 07:25
--speaking of wrists, does anyone else have the problem of hands/fingers growing really cold (and as a result stiff) while painting?

--sounds like ridiculous commerical gym personal trainer theories to me. back when i was doing strongman and powerlifting stuff i was always taught that basic exericses are the most effective, especially full body movements like squats and deadlifts. i never did any "grip exercises" back then but i can assure you my wrists were strong just from pulling and pushing large amounts of weight. and from my personal experience i think that bodyweight exercises such as push ups and dips are also effective. just my opinion though

--not your forearm, not trying argue just pointing it out. yea you work grip strength with pull ups but that only works extensor muscles not flexor or the forearm
11 Jan 05:50
--yeah you dont use your arm muscles in either of those exercises youre right
11 Jan 05:49
--pull ups work mostly the back and push ups work the chest and tricep. hes talking about wrists
11 Jan 05:45
--you should work both sides of the forearm not just the flexors. the muscles that open your hand are just as important. if all you do is use a squeezy ball youll end up with strong flexors and your extensors will be atrophied
11 Jan 05:42
--I tried that before, and my fist does not close right, so my index and middle finger sticks out and took all the weight. Real painful without cushion like thick carpet...
11 Jan 05:30
--you can do inclined push ups with your closed hands (fists) instead of open hands on the ground to make your wrists stronger
11 Jan 05:28
--i have a squeezy ball that i use when my wrist hurts that i just squeeze as fast as i can for 3 mins. i also do bicep curls but with my hand curled inward to work the forearm
11 Jan 03:59
--if your wrist hurts its probably the muscles in your forearm causing the soreness. your wrist is all tendons, the muscles cause them to get uneven tension. try massaging the muscles in your forearm

--even though i spent the whole year painting! i was like what the hekk did i do all year? lol
11 Jan 02:33
--i looked back at my art from 2013 and i only had a handfull of finished pieces and out of those i only liked a few
11 Jan 02:30
--i thought it would be a good way to kick off the year with a folder full of art..i didnt realize how streamlined your workflow and schedule has to be 0_o
