--alex negrea has a good gumroad on visual library, he basically just pulls up random photos of costumes/armor, draws quick sketches of them, makes a few notes, then creates a character from memory using those notes. also making a folder of shit you like helps, and refer to it when drawing

--I have the same problem Alexsieu and am doing the same as you to increase my visual library, sketching from life or photo reference. Also someone on here mentioned about Frank Frazetta sitting at the zoo for hours just observing animals, not even sketching.

--right now I read an hour a day (fantasy and sci fi classics, doing the witcher series right now), sketch random animal references from google images a little and draw visuals that stuck out to me from games/movies solely for leisure

--i'm not looking for a way to magically increase my visual library, but does anyone know exercises to improve your visual library slowly over time
21 Jun 05:41
--when i try to design or draw from imagination, i struggle even conceiving an idea and following through with it, and I suppose that is a problem with my visual library; i've never really observed objects (even objects in my life that I use daily) that I can draw them proportionally from my mind

--Yep I think strive for accuracy wherever you can and do smaller studies. Accuracy is one of the secret art super powers I think. If you put the effort in, it will multiply your progress further down the line.
