Not saying it's consistent, but it seems to get a wide audience. Definitely ArtStation for more AAA stuff

I am curious Nicholas, I am by no means a working professional, but have you started and finish personal project for the very thing you wanted to do?

So do you guys get a lot of gigs from connections? thats what i struggle with the most but everyone says thats how you really break into mid to high tier paying jobs with good companies

Jan Kloidt

yeah, it's coming next month hopefully. i really want to make it good and also do some example pieces or a blog about it before it starts, but i got tons of stuff to finish before i can get to that

I think one thing one can do is initiate personal projects for the thing you want to do. (Perfect example Ihor Caisne his latest series of Field of Thorns)

Jan Kloidt

@hermi you mean the challenge?

29 Jun 15:07

Amit Dutta

Man it totally depends. With this one I was at a book signing event for White Cloud Worlds volume 3 which I was published in recently, and I met some friendly peeps at it. She said they were looking for an artist, and I just showed them the book. They hired me soon after.

i'm doing 6 fanart pieces for games workshop atm to get into it so i really nail the art test, really tough when you notice midway that something that you like doesnt fit their ip and you need to figure out how to get there, but it's a ton of learning
