--nice try

--And congrats too all who finished cc4. It was a tough challenge, but I hope you had fun!
27 Jun 22:50
--Definitely post some of your sketches and studies guys, even a tiny bit of feedback can be of help. The truth is Amit draws too much hentai and he is too shy to post that stuff
27 Jun 22:50
--The finals thread for CC4 has been closed. Such awesome work! The judging stream will likely be around 9pm Tuesday UTC+0 (tbc) so if you do want to get an entry in before then, PM me or Piotr and we might let you in....once you have given us favours. (See Adam's CC4 entry for more details)

--I love feedback on my stuff, 'cause in my experience pretty much everyone here is cool. :-) And I do need all the help I can get, LOL!
27 Jun 20:48
--hehe, and I hope none of this discussion results in anyone thinking they should stop posting studies in their Sb and getting critique! it shouldn't. That is my own personal decision. Early on you need all the help you can get!!
27 Jun 20:40
--Yeah I totally get it Muzz :) The "grind and show everyone" mentality justisn't my thing. I actually learned that from being on this forum..haha. I understand it works for many people and so I recommend it for others, it just hasn't worked out that way for me. That's why I don't believe there is any absolute way to do anything in art or anything else.
27 Jun 19:43
--They don't even have to be well drawn boobies either. So I'd rather not rely on random advice from the internet too much.
27 Jun 19:41
--Which means if you look to the mass for approval, you just have to draw ( . Y . ) and you'll get approved on some sites, LOL. Even if you only did an anatomy study. Not particularly discerning crowd there. XD
27 Jun 19:39
--Also (as one of my art buddies complains about frequently) you tend to get on the front page of art sites if you draw BEWBS ( . Y. )
27 Jun 19:38
--Yeah, it makes sense to listen to the few guys who make sense when you want advice on how to improve. :-)
27 Jun 19:13
--It just seemed a bit weird for a mod of an art forum to think this way tbh.
27 Jun 18:38
--I just don't feel the need to constantly post my studies and get approval from others that I am heading in the right direction. There are only a select few people where I listen closely to everything they say and solicit specifically for feedback because they have earned my respect with the quality of feedback they give. Sometimes it's a skill difference thing, but not always. I just decided not to post for randoms to have their say, that's all. :)
27 Jun 18:36
--Oh not a problem...I was a bit flippant which doesn't help for communication! :)
27 Jun 18:34
--Yeah sorry i didn't mean for it to be calling you out, more just confusion.
27 Jun 18:31
--Those things can and should all be practiced by doing studies, and targeted sketching though? Appeal is every much a study able skill as lighting.
27 Jun 18:31
--It's not about identifying that I can't draw form properly, or my colours suck etc...That stuff I can figure out myself. And honestly the answers are always the same....practice more of x. Where x is one of those things pretty much fundamental that we all know we should be doing anyway.
27 Jun 18:28
--More about appeal, narrative, design and specific questions about what the balance of the kind of work to show to get particular gigs. But even that I realise is mostly about me just going full tilt into my own projects and doing what I want to do more of.
27 Jun 18:24
--Technical crits are the easiest to do, but they don't answer the problems I'd rather have answered right now
27 Jun 18:22
--I didn't say I was getting the same feedback everytime. I said the feedback I get is stuff that I already identified most of the time. Look man, it's cool, if I am doing something wrong it will come out in the wash...
