I don't mean to be unhelpful, but all these hypotheticals bore the living shit out me. THERE IS NO RIGHT ANSWER. Asking a million people will not give you the right answer. Living your life and seeing how it plays out will give you the answers you want

Since you're here! I have a question meaning to ask everyone and anyone. If you had a chance to choose, work for a company or freelance during the early days which would you pick?

i would say memorise atleast one type of proportion be it 7 heads or 10 heads or hales proportion system so that if you are unsure if your figures correct you can always check it, and you will be able to do it without trying eventually

All are just guides indeed. Ideal would be a sort of average. But you can do whatever you want with that. I'ts just a starting point

21 Jun 10:39

Pax

--

Like, do you use them as guides for working from the mind?

21 Jun 10:39

Pax

What's the purpose of the ideal proportions?

21 Jun 10:39

I'm looking at loomis's figure drawing for all it's worth.

Yep, they are mostly used as animators pencils, or well, they were.

Various other companies make a similar product under different names though.

Look up something called colerase they aren't standard coloured pencils.

21 Jun 02:16

By the way, for those that draw with colored pencils, is there any brand that sells solely just blue/red pencils, instead of buying a whole pack of colored pencils?

Now to revisit some of the books to re-check. *Thumbs up*
