06 Jun 00:23

Hobitt

06 Jun 00:22

Hobitt

--

i just made lockpicks out of them and went for it

06 Jun 00:22

John

--

But seriously, how did you jimmy the lock with just paperclips?

06 Jun 00:22

John

Hey man, if this art career doesn't go well, you could be the 'Paper Clip' bandit!

06 Jun 00:20

Hobitt

Sorry was talking to neopatogen

05 Jun 23:51

devinn

it's just preference at the moment, muzz. i really want to color, but it's really a convenience. i have a feeling im creeping into comfort zone territory and laziness though haha

Here is a cool site on how to divide all the way up to 25 parts.

The subdividing techniques work regardless of how many points

05 Jun 23:39

OtherMuzz

--

What do you mean it doesn't work?

05 Jun 23:24

neopatogen

--

Are you going to work only with pencil all the way @Jak? Or are you going to switch to color some day?

05 Jun 23:03

devinn

oh god sounds hard, neopatogen 0__0 (it's going well, john: at the rate im going, I'll be down one illustration and one character by september...hopefully that number doesn't increase.)

Anyone tried subdividing an ellipse in 3-point perspective into equal parts? 16 or so. Without 3d software. S Robertson's method for 2-point perspective doesn't work. I think maybe I should just eyeball it...

I screamed like a girl, seeing my PC got BSOD!

05 Jun 20:50

John

How's your deathline commitment doing Jak?

05 Jun 20:50

John

Hurray! I'm trying to shave off some asshole karma I've been lugging around and I thought I just added another to the scoreboard!

05 Jun 20:45

devinn

oh no you i didnt get a condescending vibe from you, i just never understood the blue pencil bit. That really is a good idea...I want to try scanning in my next pencil drawing using a process similar to that. I just don't like drawing in photoshop much if I don't plan on adding color. thanks man

05 Jun 20:32

John

--

I suggested using blue pencils because the marks you leave with it are lighter than the average pencil. After doing the initial blue pencil sketch, you go in with your standard pencils to make the sketch tighter. If you scan them, you can easily take out the blue markings with Photoshop.

John

Looks like I didn't explain the process right! I apologize if I came off condescending.

05 Jun 20:21

devinn

my dumb brain doesn't understand any of that haha but i will definitely try next time. the numerous preliminary steps confuses the SHIT outta me. watching traditional animation processes is like rocket science/cyborgbrain surgery. like, im dumb man

05 Jun 19:08

John

You can easily knock the blue out in PS.

If it's going to go through a computer, have you thought about running your initial sketch using a blue pencil?
