Hurray! I'm trying to shave off some asshole karma I've been lugging around and I thought I just added another to the scoreboard!

oh no you i didnt get a condescending vibe from you, i just never understood the blue pencil bit. That really is a good idea...I want to try scanning in my next pencil drawing using a process similar to that. I just don't like drawing in photoshop much if I don't plan on adding color. thanks man

I suggested using blue pencils because the marks you leave with it are lighter than the average pencil. After doing the initial blue pencil sketch, you go in with your standard pencils to make the sketch tighter. If you scan them, you can easily take out the blue markings with Photoshop.

Looks like I didn't explain the process right! I apologize if I came off condescending.

my dumb brain doesn't understand any of that haha but i will definitely try next time. the numerous preliminary steps confuses the SHIT outta me. watching traditional animation processes is like rocket science/cyborgbrain surgery. like, im dumb man

You can easily knock the blue out in PS.

If it's going to go through a computer, have you thought about running your initial sketch using a blue pencil?

yeah, like a sort of light box? that's actually a really good idea. i remember my mom suggesting I scan the line work and print multiple copies of it lmao i mean, it makes complete sense...but feels weird. just rubs me the wrong way lol

You can pickup a cheap LED light table, and ink on a new sheet of paper.

Copic markers or watercolor pencils might be an option, but copics are too expencive and my watercolor pencils are at home, and it would be hard anyway

How do you imagine color studies at a museum? I`ll take some paper and pencils to do sketches.
