Part of the battle of been on any forum, is choosing which critique to actually follow, which is why I think Chris Oatley said, to have a group of trust worthy friends which can give you critique (or you give critique to them) when you want in-depth critique etc. Because forum critiques, can be really general critique, such as "follow x book" or "learn x subject", while you're trying to understand one subject first.

Most of the time, if I am looking for an answer, I research about it, because the CnC doesn't relate to the problem I have. Like your post gives me a better idea on a learning mechanism to strive for learning the human figure, per say.

Just to clarify one thing Muzz, what I meant with forum is 95% of the time, we do not follow the advice, some peeks our interests more which led to delve deeper into gaining knowledge. Lets say someone has a mechanism for learning, and they haven't gotten 2 weeks in to practice the mechanism they created, immediately you get critique, but how much of all of those critiques peoples actually apply? I know for a fact, I only applied a handful of them when I was on other forums.

You talking about the Youtube video or games?

03 Jun 17:18

OtherMuzz

A simplified artgument would be to say devs treat genres as design goals rather than a label applied when the game is done.
