--Copic markers or watercolor pencils might be an option, but copics are too expencive and my watercolor pencils are at home， and it would be hard anyway

--Part of the battle of been on any forum, is choosing which critique to actually follow, which is why I think Chris Oatley said, to have a group of trust worthy friends which can give you critique (or you give critique to them) when you want in-depth critique etc. Because forum critiques, can be really general critique, such as "follow x book" or "learn x subject", while you're trying to understand one subject first.
