That's why I asked him "Why are you even learning via pixelart"

29 May 16:12

Jun

Well, that is valid advice, I was just giving my thoughts on the paper tracing technique

29 May 16:12

Ambiguity

just design everything in pencil and trace on top

29 May 16:11

Ambiguity

but I'm just saying instead of trying to draw with a mouse which is like drawing with a rock

Jun

"Slow" because I've seen professionals work.

29 May 16:11

Ambiguity

--

I totally would

29 May 16:11

Jun

And then scale it down

29 May 16:11

Ambiguity

and it'd be a hell of a lot quicker with pixel lines

29 May 16:11

Ambiguity

I mean when you paint you might have a line art and the painted part, so it's the same thing

Jun

If you have a tablet, why not just draw digitally..

29 May 16:10

Ambiguity

Hm, I don't see it being that slow, unless you're using a mouse like you guys.

But I want to apply anatomy on pixelart instead of drawing and tracing over it.

29 May 16:08

Jun

But in Hermi's situation, it might be helpful when studying!

29 May 16:07

Jun

If you're a professional, that way is really slow and useless imo.

29 May 16:07

Ambiguity

--

Not that I'm trying to convince you to do it that way, I'm just curious how you draw that conclusion.

29 May 16:07

Jun

I don't like doing that. Except if I'm trying to study/learn.

29 May 16:06

Ambiguity

Hmmm, isn't the result the end goal though? Who are you really cheating? I mean it's not like you didn't do all the art yourself

29 May 16:06

Brian Hermelijn

Yeah I can imagine.

29 May 16:04

Jun

Gym on halt, Art on halt, it's really annoying.

29 May 16:04

Jun

(y) got a MRI tomorrow

29 May 16:04

Brian Hermelijn

Oh dang, hang in there, and get well man.

29 May 16:01

Jun

So no backdoor stuff for now. I am writing a new game from scratch, though.

29 May 16:01

Jun

Also, art and gamedev on halt. My back is messed up because of some trauma

29 May 16:00

Jun

\o/ no worries

Brian Hermelijn

Alright shall see how I am gonna incorporate it for next month, if not will just have to postpone with trying out pixelart.

I also suggest reading all of these @hermidraws http://pixelation.org/index.php?action=tags;tagid[]=1

Jun

Seems kinda cheaty to me, I'd rather learn to do it proper by experimenting. That's just me, though.

29 May 15:56

Jun

--

People do that for learning, yes

29 May 15:56

Ambiguity

--

I've seen people who do have a tablet do that as well

29 May 15:56

Ambiguity

can't you just scan your pencils into your pc, knock down the opacity, and then go over it with the pencil tool?

29 May 15:55

Jun

Have you checked out our hexquisite collabs?

I think it just comes with experience
