I'm not bigging myself up, I just wish people would be a bit less selfish, and not only think in terms of mutual benefit etc etc CC4 will be fun as heck. I think I will actually participate as well :)

On a slightly different note, I respond to every single person that messages me about art. Without fail. I help them all beyond what they expect, because f*ck all those pro assholes out there who never responded to me when I asked forhelp and reached out. 90% of them ignored me, and there were only a handful of them who even bothered a reply. Said without any bitterness at all :)

@OtherMuzz I'll be your friend... you wanna get friendly? ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

Usually they will be a mutually beneficial relationship of people of similar skill level though. Like don't expect near pro's or pros to reciprocate on a relationship like that, because they need to get something out of that. Sometimes there will be benevolent mentorships, but don't expect it to happen.

Natural friendships like that are good yo. i still talk to some of my sketchbook buddies from way back in 2006

If that relationship goes well, then add them on skype and facebook, but i find that it's a good way to do all that.

Usually what i find happens is that you find a few sketchbooks that you click with, if you are posting regularily, and you get in the habit of posting feedback on each others work

really infatuated with working in a team with people that can push you and whilst introducing a bit of competition. i would like that, ya know?

How long has Brad Rigney been a part of massive black?? I see his name posted on their site...but I don't know if he's part of their team or if he simply does work for them from time to time. I love all of those guys.

So yeah. Gonna just let me mind be at ease. Will probably start like creating/writing down things I can do when I get these repeating mindset of "offness" if that make sense?

Just gonna cut myself some slack and don't be too hard on myself as Amit said. Some days you will like learning something, some other days you will just be like "nothing is working" and that's like one of those days for me today, where everything is just off, ha.

the skeleton structures are explained more indepth with proko, which is the most important thing to learn first with figures

25 May 15:57

Brian Hermelijn

I did watch proko before, but I found Hampton/Huston to ring more bells than proko for me at least. Guess will just have to man up, and follow along.

25 May 15:56

Adam Lina

hes better than hampton imo anyways, tho hampton has some nuggets of useful info in his book

25 May 15:55

Adam Lina

--

you could just watch proko videos and follow along the lessons

25 May 15:52

watching demos has lots of benefits

Now that I am attempting to try Hampton I am realizing why I always give up on books, because there is just too many texts. I would rather watch someone explain something visually than reading pages after pages of text, even though Hampton's Book have a nice balance between the two, I feel I work best watching video. Am I been a hypocrite here? Ha.

Anyone up for hangout?

25 May 13:38

Brian Hermelijn

Well I am kind of using pixel art as a tool for learning. Like "how would this look like a pixel", "how would this look like 3D" etc.

25 May 13:37

Brian Hermelijn

--

Yeah for sure.

Don't drop pixel art altogether if that's your end goal, though. You wanna keep doing both so you don't get too rusty with one or the other.

You can make a thread and we can do 3-day-hangouts and post there or something.

I'm up for practicing fundamentals together, but I can't talk/use skype or video, so there's that

25 May 11:01

Brian Hermelijn

--

After all practicing fundamentals can be boring, but it's more fun when you also have peoples tagging along :D

25 May 11:01

Brian Hermelijn

--

Zest who are you on pixelart forum :O? And what I meant with google hangout is to do more hangout often, while we like practice from books/fundamentals etc.
