--Well, to be fair this might be more of a group mentality problem more than an individual one. When people look out forthemselves, you have to make a conscious effort to not be completely selfish as well, while, when everyone is helping eachother out it comes naturally. Even when we're talking about exactly the same people, depending on what kind of 'culture' emerges, it will pretty heavily influence everyones behavior.

--I will name two guys who were total class acts and continue to be. Only those two stand out of the many I contacted. Paul Tobin, and Eduardo Pena. Both were seniors at Weta paul remains. These guys were cool. Everyone else was too self-important to give a shit.

--True, but I never expected it! It was the overwhelming lack of any interest or care shown at all from the majority asked. That's all. I realised people seem to be mostly selfish, they seem to be only interested in what they can get out of an interaction and only willing to respond to others if it suits them. NO expectations. I expected little, I mostly got nothing. Yeah it made me disappointed but it actually made me even more supremely grateful for the few that cared even slightly to reply that they were too busy to reply. Lol

--Using shitty paper, is a good idea if you have those fears of blank sketchbook pages which tenses you up (it's a real thing!) Using crappy paper can help you loosen up a bit first.

--On a slightly different note, I respond to every single person that messages me about art. Without fail. I help them all beyond what they expect, because f*ck all those pro assholes out there who never responded to me when I asked forhelp and reached out. 90% of them ignored me, and there were only a handful of them who even bothered a reply. Said without any bitterness at all :)

--Usually they will be a mutually beneficial relationship of people of similar skill level though. Like don't expect near pro's or pros to reciprocate on a relationship like that, because they need to get something out of that. Sometimes there will be benevolent mentorships, but don't expect it to happen.
