I mostly learn to talk with management atm. Which I find scary, don't like talking with management :P

John

Meh... I didn't learn much to be honest!

Eyliana

Jealous :P

Lucky for me, group thesis was a thing back in the day. Sucks to be you guys haha!

With a supervising teacher/professor, but mainly on your own

20 May 06:12

John

--

Wow.

20 May 06:12

Eyliana

--

Jep

20 May 06:12

John

--

You mean, everybody does their thesis on their own?

20 May 06:11

Eyliana

--

Oh, and I do have a supervision teacher/prof that does understand so I'm not all alone, just nearly ^^

But than again, it's like graduation thesis. They try to filter students out a bit sooner than their 5th year :p

20 May 06:10

Eyliana

--

Yeah, it happens that it takes a while before ppl graduate :P

John

Sounds like a nice way to weed out those who can't pull their own weight!

Every intern has like there own little project they work on, because you get assessed on your own quality, not group work.

20 May 06:05

Eyliana

--

I'm not the only intern, but I'm the first university/research like intern. But the project I'm doing is independent from normal work activities. I'm looking into how they can implement an environmental assessment tool, what value that has and stuff. And nobody knows how that works anyways :P

20 May 06:05

John

--

That sucks. Just realized that's a 3 hour drive per day. Very unproductive if you ask me.

20 May 06:04

John

--

You mean you're the only intern? Or every intern is under an independent research?

20 May 06:03

John

--

Just thinking about it seems tiring..

20 May 06:02

Eyliana

--

But the company is like 1,5h drive away, so that usually takes a lot of energy

20 May 06:01

Eyliana

--

No no, not at all. It's a research project, so it's very independent. I have to figure out what I need to do, and that's what I do. It's a bit lonely sometimes, because you have the R&D team that works together on stuff, and I just have my project for myself all alone and nobody understands what I'm doing anyways

What's the internship like? I hope they weren't just making you run around and get coffee for everyone!

20 May 05:58

Eyliana

--

@John; I have been doing this since January :P But yeah. I'm glad though I can work 2 days at home, saves a lot of energy and time.

20 May 05:54

John

@Eyli Aha! Slowly turning into a company man I see! Goodbye watercolor, hello suits!

20 May 05:51

John

--

@zest Ho boy.. If only I can schedule anxiety haha! But yeah that's looks ideal!

20 May 05:39

Eyliana

--

@John; Not really, but for the internship I need to get up at 6am, but going to sleep at 10 is difficult :P And when I don't go to the company I get up around 8am and weekends later, so it's all irregular

20 May 05:32

Scheduling is the key. If you go to sleep at random times, rip. Gotta be consistent.

20 May 05:29

John

--

You've been cramming?

20 May 05:12

Eyliana

--

Hmm I need to sleep earlier, already knew that, but now its for real

20 May 05:10

John

--

Sacrilege!

20 May 05:08

BrushNoir

Reduce "blue lights" before you go to sleep, like monitors, cellphones etc. Hard I know heheh :p

20 May 04:59

John

--

That was actually well written! Thanks for the advice! The only problem I have with that, it takes a long time for me to get to real sleep. There are times I have my eyes open like an owl for hours!

20 May 04:44

BrushNoir

I actually wrote something about that and it does help, been doing this for quite some time now. http://www.brushnoir.com/sleep-is-for-th...ink-again/

Will it lose effectiveness in time? Say I was doing that for a number of days consecutively.. on the nth day of doing that, will I still feel refreshed?
