And the impression will have to be
analysed into these terms as if you were actually
drawing the scene on some imagined piece of paper
in your mind. The faculty of doing this is not to
be acquired all at once, but it is amazing of how
much development it is capable. Just as the faculty
of committing to memory long poems or plays can
be developed, so can the faculty of remembering
visual things. This subject has received little at-
tention in art schools until just recently. But it
is n

I'd imagine so

Huh, tht makes me wonder. Can people who can't visualize still do abstract patterns and see something in the shapes?

14 May 21:07

Amit Dutta

--

You restrict yourself, by the techniques you subscribe to

14 May 21:06

Amit Dutta

I love pre-viz, but also, random pattern recog, in abstract shit is equally awesome

14 May 21:06

Amit Dutta

Don't force and analyze everything all the time

14 May 21:06

Amit Dutta

Just let shit flow man

but its takes practice

I have a really hard time visualizing stuff personally, but that doesn't mean i don't understand the forms i am drawing, it's more of a heirachy of shape memory. i lay down a framework on the page which i can then use to build off

14 May 21:05

Hobitt

--

but it very difficult i can sit for 5 minutes trying to get it

14 May 21:05

Hobitt

--

but i find when i start to vizualize i really get immersed in the painting and its quite fun

14 May 21:05

Hobitt

yeah its jsut one way

14 May 21:05

Hobitt

and its a weak piece because of it

There is a condition called Aphantasia recently diagnosed, that shows that a certain percentage of the population with it, CAN'T visualise anything. My friend has it...she is bloody creative. To me that shows it's not a prerequisite...however unthinkable for a visual thinker

14 May 21:04

Hobitt

so even my second CC entry is not vizualized its completely technique and muscle memory

14 May 21:04

Hobitt

yeah im actually never vizualize before i did experiment witha few pieces before but i never considered it a valid approach

I would find it strange for an artist not to visualize. I mean you can just wing a drawing, but it's probably going to look really strange. I made the random generators just for that purpose alone, to help people visualize and form ideas through keywords and values.

I think visualisation and seeing things in your minds eye is a perfectly valid form of getting to an expression of experience.

14 May 21:02

OtherMuzz

--

I don't.... my drawing is more like sculpture where im drawing 3d forms and exploring

14 May 21:02

Amit Dutta

Definitely!

14 May 20:54

Hobitt
