--I definitely want to get myself out there as well, Rotten. The last year I kept seeing other people get cool opportunities with art and I was kinda jealous because my output was not too good, and I felt like I could do good work if I just actually looked for the jobs.

--I think my main mantra for this year is: Set myself up for success for years to come. What I think that looks like for me is a) frequent mindful art practice b) Sticking to a schedule c) Taking care of my health (walks, better eating/cooking more) and d) eliminating bad habits/building daily habits that I find useful. - I do have specific NY resolutions, but like the general breakdown too, so I don't lose the actual endgoal to what I'm trying to build this year.

--For me at least It's A) motivating, the creative spark has already done the hard yard and there's no staring at a blank canvas wo weeks later trying to think of something. B) Options, sometimes an idea has a mood and it gives you multiple avenues to pursue rather than waiting for the right time. and C) More Opportunity. I want to submit more, both to my portfolio and of things that are missing, and for competition entries to be out and seen.

--Happy new year everybody! I've not set myself any list of 'new year's resolutions', but I have been doing a lot of mental and organizational de-cluttering. While I do have a couple of rules I want to start following like using more *gasp* references, I'm also just pumping out a huge list of ideas. Like an idea journal. A detailed description or story for an artwork. If you're not already doing this too, I highly recommend keeping an ideas journal to draw from.
