--Anyone have any recommendations for any old masters who do women's portraits well? I notice a lot of vitality in paintings of males, but aside from Anders Zorn, most kind of lack the vitality.

--We don't need saints, we need people..Gonna go for now. Talk to ya later. Bye!!
26 Mar 10:47
--I'm no saint, but I'll take it! You know my username. PM me if you need someone to bounce thoughts with. But I seriously hope you get somebody to talk to. To unburden some of that weight you're carrying.
26 Mar 10:24
--Hey John, Thank you so much for being so kind!! I honestly don't feel comfortable talking about it yet..b/c you know, having someone willing to listen to you talk is rare these day. Most people just wait for their turn to speak...It's good to know there's strangers like you out there :)

--Everyone, if you ever have the feeling that you're getting too caught up in technique and you forgot what art's supposed to be about, watch this. https://vimeo.com/157746263 There are so many people out there who are much better at technique than Goya but have 0% of what he actually excels at. But that's what makes art worth it!

--I didn't decide to stop posting. It kinda just happened..I fell behind..Does that make sense?
26 Mar 10:03
--Well, tbh my life is actually non existent right now. I fell behind with practice hopefully you guys' hard work will inspire me to do more.

--@Kurt You probably are. I, for one, will be jealous of you if Alex Negrea is going to judge your work. You lucky lucky boy you.
26 Mar 09:07
--am I the only one worried/anxious here about the fact that alex negrea is gonna judge my work?
26 Mar 06:45
--yeah i agree, got that too. But 3 cups of coffee and just starting early in the morning also can get me focused for a whole day
26 Mar 06:43
--And (this may sound stupid), the time when I get really focused, most of the time, it's the moment when I get off from a really shitty day at work.
26 Mar 06:39
--But in all seriousness, I always believe it's the quality of work that you put in, and it's never the quantity of time. I hit the drawing board longer than you, but I swear to god, there are times I learned so much from an hour of focused work than a 5 hour study with my brain switched off.
26 Mar 06:35
--You're in your 20's and you're worried about breaking in at 40? I'm in my 30's, I'd probably get a job by the time I get glaucoma haha!
26 Mar 06:20
--I totally see what you mean Amit. The days I work I get 3 hours to study, and even tough I am still drawing for just 2, i make sure to spend this precious time wisely. Yesterday was a holiday, when I realized I did nothing art related the whole day o.O. I just feel bad sometimes about this whole art stuff because I feel I'm starting at it too late (20 and with a job), and if people take 9 years to get good drawing 8 hours a day, when will I be able to make a living out of it? When I am 40 yo?
