--Having done the work and study route, I would highly recommend not quitting your job if you are anything like me...a dumb ass procrastinator. If you are diligent no worries, but sometimes having restricted amounts of time can make you more productive. Also...money is good. As John said there are sacrifices, but also there is life outside of art, so I don't think you need to be a starving crazy weirdo socially to learn how to be an artist yourself. Sadly many of us become this way

--I hear you. I'm not exactly on the same boat as you are because I work semi part time. Meaning, there are days where it's like a full time job. Then there are days where it's easy going. I am lucky to get this kind of work so I can put more time for drawing. But at the same time, I am working for less. Like, below minimum less.
