that moment when you're randomly researching images somewhere in the backyards of the internet and you find an image that you did a study of 2 years ago and still remember it

@Piotr and @Hobitt yeah that's what I'm doing now, just some small studies and then I start making the drawing and after that I can see what I lack and will study that. I think that's a good process for me to start ^^

@BrushNoir: I'd say do some research first and some simple sketch studies to upload this to your visual library, gather refs, do some comps and sketches, then when you define your weaknesses and what you need for the final piece - do some more serious studies. But that's just my opinion. It's best to do whatever works for you.

15 Mar 05:24

Hobitt

--

that way i can ask questions and study stuff i don't understand

15 Mar 05:24

Hobitt

i usually do serious studies AFTER i decide on the design idea composition etc

15 Mar 05:09

BrushNoir

Ah cool thanks ^^ That helped me.

id say whenever you feel like you need to prepare for something you are not comfortable doing yet. then you do some studies of whatever it is; visual library, lighting, composition... and apply them to what you want to do with your piece

15 Mar 05:07

But render studies for materials can also be done after the drawing I guess

15 Mar 05:07

Eyliana

Depends on what you are studying ;). But most studies are before drawing/or during the creation of the drawing, to generate ideas and to figure out the things you don't know how to draw

I have a quick and probably a stupid question *shameface*. I'm trying to figure out a process for myself for the CC. When do studies come in? Before your actual drawing or later while rendering?

That being said, I spent a large amount of money on hardware and win10 has been good so far.

Hear Amit guys, it really us true. Also, Linux is much more user friendly this days.

obviously if it's a hardware thing, then it might not help, but in general Linux is way way more stable and resource efficient

You can always dual boot it, or just run it off a usb to give it a shot...

Hmmm. Maybe you're right. Once or twice a year there's be a videogame that I want to play and my computer can handle, and often there's no linux support, but I'll abe able to live without that.
