My own personal goal, is to be able to sustain it for at least 1 year. If people are dedicated, they will get at least a folio worth of pieces. We are doing this to keep you guys accountable and working and build a decent frikkin community again.

Hope the challenges start soon. I came here to give beatings and more importantly, to take them. ;)

All good. For sure, always reasons to social media it up, but for art development it's trite :)

Haha, I will say I managed to land some good clients on FB and keep in touch with a lot of my old online buddies after the CA exodus...but FB art groups just not the same. I'm glad CD has weathered it out and I'm sorry for not taking part more.

@star Eater. You know forums is where it's at. FUCK that facebook bullshit. Glad we inspired you to get back in for a bit :)

Actually good to be in a forum enviro again to push the art harder. I think I really need it right now. Starting to stagnate so bad I can smell it.

@Piotr hahah, well i wouldn't worry about the spam - i had to rebuild my computer recently after it blew it was only a matter of time before the monitor went the same way.

Eyliana

I'll start doing some studies then :D

10 Mar 01:26

Eyliana

--

Yeah, for now I just want to get the basic insight/hang of it, since I haven't paid any attention to it at all.

10 Mar 01:20

Amit Dutta

--

But really, just keep doing value studies for a month or so, and you'll see huge leaps forward

10 Mar 01:19

Amit Dutta

--

kinda all together I guess if it is a study, the comp importance of the values first. But if you are building a workflow, I think broad values first, then deciding broad lighting features then adding nuance and subtlety and texture

10 Mar 00:42

Eyliana

--

Oke :) Thanks! And then focus on the light source(s)? And the compositional elements of the values?

10 Mar 00:36

Amit Dutta

--

@eyliana: start simply, breaking down studies into 4 or 5 major valus. Then you can get more detailed and nuanced @cerl :P

10 Mar 00:29

Piotr Jasielski

--

you can also use a inteligent blur filter to simpify values on photos, but masterstudies are probably the best

10 Mar 00:28

Piotr Jasielski

--

Deffinitely grayscale masterstudies!

10 Mar 00:18

Eyliana

--

Question! What is a good way to start to learn/study values? Just greyscale masterstudies?

@rottenpocket: really? now I'm afraid, because I'm probably the one with the most exposure to this crap
