--hhhm, I agree that there's no problem with eating animals that need to be hunted anyway because their population would spin out of control otherwise, or well treated captive animals that don't have a concept of freedom. I also think that people who don't want to acknowledge that they are complicit in killing an animal don't have the right to eat it though. Eating a steak without acknowledging that it was part of a living thing is more than just willful ignorance, it borders on active denial.

--On a serious note though, and my last before my block of text becomes a wall - putting that video's reaching for the weakest arguments to belittle aside, I'm often curious how vegans consider harvesting plant and grain any different, only because it hasn't a face or apparent character? Plants can feel and communicate. Both are legitimate food sources - meat, an immediate gain while plants, are a long invested source of the nutrients they gain from both meat and other plants. It's harvesting.

--RP, no country is absolved from the shocking treatment of farmed animals...it's kinda the nature of the commercial game. I guess only a tiny number of smaller organic/free farm places can really claim ethical highground if there is such a thing. I don't have any national or patriotic affiliation, which is yet another retarded outdated idea that needs to disappear...haha fat chance

--Curiously enough having grown up amongst several aspects of farming i have a greater appreciation for how aussie farmers DO rear, harvest and CONSERVE livestock. A lot of stink that gets kicked up is by the same people who consider polyurethane as 'vegan leather'. Say hello and welcome to those fungal infections and uneccessary toxic gas.
