--I find writing so much easier, that's my easy to obtain state of flow
24 Oct 18:57
--My situation is now that I pretty much have all the art, animation and programming skills I need to tell a story. But I can't write for shit and have no stories to tell, so that's something I'm working on at the moment.
24 Oct 18:55
--I'm trying to move away from characters on blank backgrounds at the moment.
24 Oct 18:54
--Just in general, I like rich colours, convincing rendering, complete scenes and interesting character designs. Any artist who can meet those requirements is up my alley.
24 Oct 18:51
--heh.. cute.. and yes.. porn is something I would rather avoid.. I joined furraffinity because someone recommended it as being friendly, and my best friend freaked out at me, telling me I'd get associated with furryporn now.. >.<
24 Oct 18:41
--There's another artist I want to recommend, but he has way too much porn in his gallery... I'll just grab a few images.
24 Oct 18:10
--If you're interested in anthro art, I'd highly recommend Ryota Murayama's work: http://ovopack.tumblr.com/
24 Oct 18:07
--I prefer drawing animals to humans, I figure anthro might be an easier alternative.. probably kidding myself, but it'd also maybe more appealing to kids as a story.. will be kid safe etc
24 Oct 18:05
--I'm trying to learn how to draw anthro/furry type stuff, i want to convert my fantasy story to an anthro animal based fantasy graphic novel, so furry drawings and process would be helpful :D
24 Oct 17:54
--I guess maybe with process stuff yes, but timed draws are just warm up for me, a constant to get my eye and hand to understand human and animal proportions
24 Oct 17:52
--it's not even about an urge to share lol. I honestly feel that by posting and writing about what you learned/what you need to work on with shiz that you upload in your sketchbook = huge art gains
24 Oct 17:50
--I don't even feel the urge to share, I've been doing this stuff for almost a year, and I have a stack about 3 reams high.. no urge at all to share
24 Oct 17:50
--Aaaaaaah, alrighty. I see where you two are coming from. I just want the best for all us daggers <3 - at least self-reflect on things that you decide to post in your sketchbooks (and type it out insstead of hit + run posting if you do that) :D
24 Oct 17:47
--I want to share some of those studies because pouring a huge chunk of your life into all that and not being able to share some of it sucks.
24 Oct 17:45
--Yeah, I'm the same. I can see my mistakes, but addressing them takes a lot of practice. So it's more important that I keep attempting and refining my approach than wasting all my energy trying to fix them after the fact.
24 Oct 17:44
--I'm not sure anyone would see anything in my figure drawing smrr.. i tend to draw over top of whats there, I'm not focused on results, I'm focused on doing - so I don't care to make space for each one, it ends up a mess, but I can feel where I go wrong and try and correct it - some images I might spend the whole time just getting the line of the hip right and ignoring the rest of the body
24 Oct 17:35
--It's all apart of getting better and tbh posting something that you don't feel comfortable with should be the /easiest/ of the list of uncomfortable things you gotta do to get better at what you do.
24 Oct 17:34
--SketchStick, what's all this "comfortable" posting nonsense? Not tryna be a bitch, but Crimson Daggers is all about living outside that zone you call comfort. It applies to everything! Posting things that make you feel uncomfortable, studying things that make you feel uncomfortable because they'll most likely turn out shit if it's a new thing you're learning
24 Oct 17:31
--Out of those five things, the two hands and the construction study are the only ones I'd be comfortable posting.
24 Oct 17:29
--It has: a diary-like note to self, two hands, a construction study of a dogs torso/limbs, an anthro head, and a quick figure drawing that's pretty much porn since I'm trying to work out some issues with the pelvis.
