--True true. The key is habit... I haven't really done any physical drawing today though, but looking at perspective lectures, so.. That counts for today! ;D

--I think the deathlines may help. And if they start hindering, then I gotta change my process. I think I will make this a kind of mantra.. If I lose focus, change the process.

--Great place to be.. and eh, make drawing such a habit you feel lost if you don't do something daily, and you'll be fine, you don't have to be slaving at it all the time
21 Sep 08:21
--Still, hope I can stay focused this time. :) My pattern doesn't make it very promising, though.
21 Sep 08:20
--I also ended up convincing my dad, eventually, when I went to art school for a year. Honour roll success story. So, I showed him that I had potential.
21 Sep 08:19
--Yeah, I was at school for it for a couple of years. Fun, but not really my stint. And I ended up in a country that doesn't have English as the main language either, so.. Drawing as a form of communication seems more helpful ;)

--Sounds like a great childhood! I was lucky to have a great childhood too. My mom's an idealist, so she's always understood that sort of thing, and encouraged it. My dad's a realist, though, and he just wanted me to 'get an education' and 'have a secure job'. Interesting that he chose journalism for me. Kind of.. Not very secure. At all. lol
21 Sep 08:18
--I won't show him.. apparently he died.. and I dared to start art again after I found out.. though I'm still kind of 'in hiding' in case he pops up again, because I only heard 3rd hand he'd died.. and you know.. paranoia being what it is
21 Sep 08:17
--heh, I'm lucky my parents always encouraged me.. I have no idea why because my childhood art was /terrible/.. but they encouraged me anyway because I enjoyed it.. I think my parents are kind of rare, they have both followed their passions in life, and think people should do what they enjoy
21 Sep 08:15
--Damn. Well.. Damn. There are people like that too. I'm glad that you came back, though, Punky. You'll show him. :)
21 Sep 08:15
--Eh, this guy wasn't ignorant, he was a completely brilliant artist - which is why I listened to him, he was also a psychopath and I was competition he wanted to shut down
21 Sep 08:14
--I remember when my dad tried to discourage me from art. He told me about this guy he knew at work who could draw amazing horses, but of course, he couldn't make a career out of it, and there were tons of people who were better. But, he was 'just good'. And I said, "Well, how many times do you think he had to draw those horses before he got good at them?" And it left him speechless. :) Not something that's very common for my dad, lol
21 Sep 08:14
--Yeah, just watch the Level Up interview with Craig Mullins - a teacher at Art Centre told _him_ the's never make it and well lol. He sure showed him <3
21 Sep 08:14
--I think that my focus is the best it's ever been on anything - I was really serious about writing, but it slowly shifted to wanting to draw the characters..
21 Sep 08:13
--That's awful. But, there are ignorant people out there who will say things like that. But, they have no idea.
21 Sep 08:12
--heh, I stopped for a /very/ long time, because I listened when someone said I'd never be a real artist
21 Sep 08:12
--If I ever get to the point where I can tell my success story, I'm not sure if I'll be able to say, "Ah yes, it was July of 2015..." But, I hope so. And not have to add, "But I stopped for a couple of years.." XD
21 Sep 08:11
--I don't know that I'm even serious enough right now-- I took an 8 month hiatus and came back a few months back, so.. I don't know how long it'll last. My attention is difficult to keep, even if I want it to be. But, I'm trying. :)
21 Sep 08:10
--I'm glad that you're not getting discouraged. It's so, so, sooo easy to get discouraged. But, your work has so much potential, and I can see that you'll be able to bring some pretty awesome ideas alive, even if it's just through those killer animals you draw.
21 Sep 08:08
--I've only been seriously /working/ at getting better for a year, so I can't expect too much. I'm trying to be nice to myself now - after hitting a real wall
21 Sep 08:05
--Michelangelo was like 42 or something before he was actually getting good work.
