--there is a really.. well I feel anyway.. moment in the book where the kids basically pull the plug on england and drain away all the flood water (and dragons - cute story) and I can't even begin to know how to convey that, doesn't need characters, it needs good design i think

--Absolutely! It does depend on whether you want characters as your focus for a book illustration but even if you do, you can even use this to nut out the design and layout of your environment and then whatever piece you want to use that for you won't have to redo that design...just render

I want to illustrate an out of copyright story as a personal project, but have no idea how to design the illustrations, and wondered if I could use that as my project for the design class?

--I remember seeing it in a magazine from a long time ago and thinking what in the world, but it wasn't until I watched a recent "tutorial" that I realized what they were doing haha... the way they were doing it, it almost looked like their lids were being folded downwards. They probably filled it in with like a glittery pink to make it look that way. Again, cute but also creepy and kind of gross looking... it's started to grow on me though
