--I've sent emails back and forth with book publishers, board game people, game devs, just talking about what they're looking for in an artist. I send them some my work and I am just up front with that I'm a student and will continue to be a student for the next 2 years but that I'm interested in working for them and I want to know what they look for and what they pay.

--It really depends on what you want to do. In general, if you're good enough, people would want to network with you so less work is required. Easiest way is through people you already know. Conventions and events can often get you in touch with a lot of people. Doing small jobs is another way. If you're mostly studying, it's gonna be harder to network with the non-studying world

--How does one network? Serious question haha better yet, how does one network while studying
