Hey Jeso-- On your stream, pay more attention to where you're placing each part of the face. From what I can see, the nostril comes up higher with the nose, and there is more space between the nose and lips. Make comparisons like that continually as you're drawing, and make note of them. ;)

you can use that for any kind of skin color or type of face. just get ref of the kind of skintone or bone structure you want and combine it with this. it's more about where to put the lights and what that does than direct reference

Thanks Richie :) that's one of the things I try to keep in my mind at all times, how does it look in 3d not just what I can see.. I'm hoping studying the planes section in loomis will help me for shading but not quite up to that point

Can you paint traditionally? I've found it difficult to get the effects I want digitally, but finding the chalk brushes has been the thing that made it easier, even though I go for super smooth finish on my traditional work, I like textured digital.. still don't understand how to get that final polish though. Selection masks seem to be very useful though

I know nothing about clip studio, but if you are wanting to try other software Krita is free, and as good as photoshop

there's a common problem where certain parts of the screen will produce wavy lines

I think my biggest roadblock right now is the software/hardware setup I have... I love Clip Studio, but I think I have too much clutter on it (too many brushes that I might use "someday")... only having what the Surface Pro 3 allows me to work with hotkey wise is kind of a pain

Someday I'll have a nice setup and won't have to worry about that haha

Google Hangouts seem really popular, but I think for some reason my computer doesn't like joining hangouts

Maybe I should just look for study groups instead ; ^ ; I just really wish I could hang out with someone who's already there and could tell me what I'm doing wrong haha
