Nous, I have I /think/ at most 4gig ram, but I'm running Ubuntu (Mint would be even better as it has a lighter interface) and while Krita can lag a little zoomed out with large dense brushes, generally I've had limited problems - it's also got a better autosave/ recovery from crash than any windows system I've ever used. I know Photoshop is industry standard, but if you are just trying to get portfolio work done and you have the hard drive space to dual boot it could be worth looking at?

Well, i got the file directory and getting images to load! now to sort all images in a directory, and randomly display 1 at a time for a certsin amount of time..i think ill allow the user to input their own directory as well :)

Random Thought: Go with the source you feel is right to learn from, let it be books, videos and so on. Pick what feels right for you, and not always what everyone shoves at you. :)
