--Sometimes you're painting a caveman and a brown recluse falls out from your computer tower.

--Take a strip of paper, mark it into 10 sections, and paint them in a gradation from black to white, and keep that strip always right next to what you're drawing.

--PUNKY: Keep a scale that goes from black to white on top of your drawing to remind yourself to put that full range in.

--I think my next chow I'm going to do a greyscale image then colourise, see if I can't push that and get it right, it bugs me that it's an ongoing problem even when I /think/ I've done ok

--mhm, I've done a /lot/ of that kind of thing, I can do it in practise.. it's when I do a full picture I tend to just not get enough contrast
15 Sep 12:06
--which is something you probably you might not like since it's tedious work, but pays off well if you do it a lot.
15 Sep 12:06
--Well since you're doing traditional, maybe what you can try practicing is nailing down value on objects correctly,

--I honestly don't quite understand why I don't get dark enough.. might have to start with black and lighten and try and compose that way

--https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J5zVFlMQZEs Punk cat try working in only B&W for a while before you attempt color, like a few months if it takes that
15 Sep 10:40
--does anyone know of a good tutorial/ youtube whatever for nailing down values, because it seems to be a constant thing that I don't push them enough, and I'm feeling a bit lost /how/ to get darker / more contrast and maintain colour and ..ehh *lost flailing*

15 Sep 08:57
--so like clone and heal tools are brushes you can download? do they work ok? that would be so cool if so
15 Sep 08:39
--I haven't even tried using color profiles in ages, I forgot all about that feature
15 Sep 07:56
--there are /so/ many colour profiles you can choose from, idk what is what, but you can go ask the devs
15 Sep 07:54
--there is also a distortion tool, not sure if it works on persepctive - a lot of that stuff is in brush sets
