14 Sep 08:43
--By the way, there is still a lot of jobs out there and the (film and games) industry is growing.

--factors like availability, location, budget, and network etc etc all comes into play of who hires who

--What inspires still is Brad Rigneys journey. The guy had a lously upbringing with no education but still managed to break new ground as a late bloomer.

--Hell if I knew it 12 years ago I'd be golden. I've tried nearly all other creative disciplines - editing, web design, rendering ugh. Now I end up in conceptart/illustration - by far one of the hardest disciplines to get reasonable results from.

--just look at the first page on artstation. there are hundreds of artists ive never heard of every day and they are years away from where im at. before im getting hired, its their turn; its that simple

--Art's a lifetime pursuit... You'll just keep improving. Sigh, if only I knew the right thing to do 12 years ago.

--If you look at the star students who got scholarship before they started Art Center, you'll notice that they were almost pro even before their studies. I've noticed this with (some) FZD students also. It's an interesting trend to note.

14 Sep 08:36
--just try to keep that in mind when texting, its very easy make ppl misunderstand you
14 Sep 08:36
--@Book yeah. I'm going through a lot of study guides, lesson plans and tutorials lately and have come to terms with the fact that I'm nearly entirely self taught. I went to school and did things sure but I've never -learned- the fundamentals. It's just sort of develeoped my assumptions I guess if that makes sense.
14 Sep 08:35
--its fine nous i jut thought you were a dick because i never met you and had no idea how to interpret what you were saying. text alone is terrible at communicating that.
14 Sep 08:34
--I've got it now. I'm going to repeat this to myself every morning until I get hired: WAKE UP WORK HARD - STOP BEING A LOSER.* (*Disclaimer: Genuine note to self, no trolling intended).

--there comes a point where bank account numbers become meaningless, but until then they define a lot of your freedom
14 Sep 08:34
--@Jan yeah. That's a common goal. I think confidence and stamina are the main two obstacles.

--My biggest fear is that I'm frozen and can't improve anymore, somehow. It's an uncomfortable fear to have.
14 Sep 08:32
--Loving what you do, whether it's the whole work to live or live to work conundrum, that's something internal and can only be addressed to an individual not an industry.
