--usually for hire sites just want to hire someone cheap and quick, from my experience the NDAs were digital and made through the site, not from a contract on their end so I wouldn't be able to tell you anything about those kind of contracts
12 Sep 10:55
--You should be good then, 99% of the people I see on those sites are under a company name without their real name on their profile
12 Sep 10:52
--Mmm.. Tax isn't an issue, I'd just hand the total of billable work to the accountant, they deal with that
12 Sep 10:51
--But still get paid through paypal, bank transfer, etc. But I'm not sure about the legality when tax time comes
12 Sep 10:10
--Google hasn't been my friend on this, I'm probably looking for the wrong stuff though, I a not search engine master
12 Sep 10:09
--Does anyone know what the legality of inventing a pseudonym and using it on work for hire sites is? I have an issue with using my real name (complicated) and would rather make a pseudonym and use that/ do all work under that. I assume if a company wishes you to sign a legally binding contract you have to show proof of name?

--When I was working for a company in america - doing web design stuff, they decided rather than paying another programmer, they would get peple to bid on the contract - and they chose the cheapest, (they were cheapskates, only reason the work was good for me was the USD was so high at the time) and they guy they got took twice as long as expected, and then took the money and disappeared.. the site was an absolute mess, I spent the next four months patching it
12 Sep 07:31
--this one has me head scratching, they want photoreal illustrations of a smoke detector.. why not just take photos?
12 Sep 07:29
--yeah, there are 600 odd illustration jobs going, and I'm picking on the worst of them, because they are making me laugh, but it's pretty much what the 'average' cheapskate expects to pay
12 Sep 07:28
--Well, I've read plenty of articles where they encourage artists to set their standards... But, if that's all the work you could find, and you're a starving artist... Ouch.
12 Sep 07:27
--problem is, there are places in the world where $30 USD is a heap of money, so they will get someone to do the work
