--instead of gooling stuff thats automatically cool, look for something real you can present in a cool way or combine with other things to make something up. it's a way to force you to do some problem solving. art isnt about googling the first thing that comes to mind or to look for easy solutions. it's about working with your own taste and your own perspective on things. if you use images and influences from other people all the time, there's no way you'll do something unique to you.

--that's the point. you don't need to have everything in the world at your fingertips. work within the limitations and find creative solutions for where you want to go beyond. you might not even know what a tank is without mass media - rely on what you have at your disposal for now and you're automatically doing something unique. there is no creativity without limitations.

--Or even pictures of space for example. But more realistic stuff that can be taken of course anywhere is clouds, buildings, cars, peoples (oh boy... don't get punched)

--And Jan Kloidt you wouldn't always get the desired photos you want. Like if you wanna draw a tank, there is no way in hell a military camp just gonna be like "Hey yeah, get in you can take some photos"

--@Lod: We definitely aren't fixed on things and we can totally change things if it will improve participation or anything really. Let's see how it goes :)

--You guys thought about making community challenges a subforum of tournaments? Might be worth it for the visibility.
04 Aug 18:51
--yeah, thanks guys. still have to get used to the forum. i'll get the hang of things fast though :)

--Hmm... shouldn't the challenge be filed under 'Community Challenges' rather than CC?

--Just saw this in the forum, http://crimsondaggers.com/forum/thread-7...#pid104838

--if you're gonna shoot your own ref and draw from it, why not join my challenge? :D it's exactly about that http://crimsondaggers.com/forum/thread-7...#pid104756

--Yeah I've been itching to try photography more, I think I should. Thanks, dudes!
04 Aug 04:47
--i did, there's some nice rocks and clouds in there - but you'd still be better off shooting your own ref, nothing beats the first-hand experience (which is why noah took those photos in the first place)
