--So for everyone who missed the conversation: the link below is for the new daggers discord server, come say hi!
03 Aug 00:58
--I can only send very few messages per minute, so just click the link here! https://discord.gg/CUVNe tell your friends :D
03 Aug 00:31
--I love discord. I'm part of a friend's gaming group where I get alerts all day from people in contexts I have no relation to... well, my point is - I would love to join a CD discord group.
02 Aug 22:00
--@jan Sign me up for discord too, A core group that actually works together sounds like just what we need!
02 Aug 21:39
--I'll set it up when i get home after work, you'll get a message from me with a link that invites you and you can pass the link to others that also want to join. If you wanna make sure that i don't miss you, send me a pm and i won't forget ya
02 Aug 20:55
--I brang up the idea some other days ago. And it definitely will be something good.
02 Aug 20:48
--I'm new here but Discord sounds like I great idea, very easy to use and it would probably be easier to use than Skype (due to skypes bugs and other problems)
02 Aug 19:31
--its actually a really small group around here, even tho there are almost 5k people registered by now, the active core is probably no more than 1 or 2%, small enough to get to know each other
02 Aug 19:27
--I just think it'd be a great way to get to know everyone who's consistently here a bit better; it's way easier to exchange ideas or just casually chat through discord
02 Aug 19:25
--aight, i'll set something up! discord is still fairly new, so there isn't a screenshare option yet but it's coming in the future afaik. it's much better at the things it does than skype or google hangouts tho
02 Aug 19:22
--why not hangouts is very laggy for me in screenshare so perhaps this discord thing is more optimised
02 Aug 19:17
--Would you guys like a daggers discord group? its much less complicated than hangouts; people can join and leave and chat and talk whenever they want. I saw John Silva do it for his stream and it seems to work fine, whatcha think? imo its really useful, you can even upload images in the chat and critique them directly in discord
02 Aug 14:10
--I used to do purely traditional, but now I'm doing more digital. But I'll go back and forth with the two, especially with sketching. But as a whole, I prefer digital.
02 Aug 14:09
--I know, but most people gravitate towards one more than the other. Or atleast favor one for awhile, then switch over for awhile, etc. etc.
02 Aug 13:54
--I don't think I'd consider a pencil drawing finished. Digital media provides that extra dimension. Digital painting, and its artists tend to try to replicate the texture of traditional /realistic media, or just ignores it. It's not so black and white, Trad vs. Digi. They're just tools.
02 Aug 13:22
--Don't let that spiel deter you Nick, I've done some successful collaboration with people so you should try branching out to projects in different areas. Gotta find what works for you.
