I'll keep his construction methods in mind for when I do the figure, but I think I'm also still going to be sticking with the death line for the arm/hand. I want to tackle the complexities and nuances of anatomy, so I think it's good for me to take it in smaller chunks, one step at a time, and then look at the overview (Which is where techniques like Lemen's comes in.) Thanks again!

Second vid is my favourite, I think. You can really see the space around the figure, and the weight.

Looks like my death line might be evolving, lol. Grin

I like how Ron lemen approches it https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8F4OQcfYEOw

Thanks, Richie. I love looking at course outlines for ideas.

with that much time maybe just follow the course outline on the anatomy course of cgma and keep repeating http://2d.cgmasteracademy.com/analytical...awing.html

Sweet. Oh, and I checked out your kickstarter-- Looks really awesome. I linked it on another forum, haha.

No problems. Check this out: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SMART_criteria

Thanks, that was a big help. Also helps future deadlines too. Thumbs_up

:) for sure, tailor it to your fun too

Haha, well, I'd obviously mix it up a bit, or I'd burn out. I have ADD, so I constantly have to keep things fresh and interesting.

20 Aug 21:20

Amit Dutta

I'd cut it down, but yeah go for what you think is achievable!

Aah, good call man. Thanks a lot. I think that 100 studies and 100 imagination is doable-- But, I'm kind of optimistic, haha.

5 hours a day, 5 days a week, is 100 hours in a month. Doing that only, doing hand and arm studies, you will probably be ready for the mental asylum or euthanasia

20 Aug 21:19

Amit Dutta

--

100 is probably a lot for a month, but it is an arbitrary goal that I have seen some artists do

20 Aug 21:17

Amit Dutta

--

Definitely. Maybe instead, aim to do something like 100 hand/arm studies, and 100 from memory. Something like that. The level you reach will be the level you reach, but at least you will be able to tick off your goal

20 Aug 21:17

So, I should be more specific, maybe?

20 Aug 21:16

Amit Dutta

Well is "mastering the hand" a good enough smart goal? It seems too open ended

20 Aug 21:16

Bookend

Maybe those aren't the kind of things for death line?

20 Aug 21:15

Amit Dutta

Study it and apply..study it and apply. If you feel you aren't getting something quite right from imagination then do it more. The time it takes is completely irrelevant

Welll.. I was going to post one of those 'death line' thingies, and it's supposed to be an achievable goal. I just wanted to know if it was achievable, haha. Grin

20 Aug 21:15

Amit Dutta

Forget the time it takes.

20 Aug 21:14

Seems like not enough time, or too much? I figured that anatomy is such a big subject that I should take it in chunks, or something.. Trying to come at this realistically, but I'm not a very realistic person, haha

20 Aug 21:14

Hmm, good point.

20 Aug 21:13

Amit Dutta

That seems like an awful amount of time on just the hand and arm.

Depends what you mean by master?
