Raman's Sketchbook - Raman Djafari - 10-02-2012 Hey, my name is Raman. I'm 19 years old and I'm currently living in Berlin. I started painting and drawing regularly about 2 1/2 years ago and just as probably everybody in this forum I want to become a professional artist. I want it with every part of my body, because art is the thing that makes me the happiest person in the world eventhough it can be really depressing from time to time. I will do my best to improve as much as I can and I would really appreciate some advice and critique from you guys. Ofcourse I will do my best to help everybody else as far as i can. Well, here is some of my stuff: Some studies: And finally the piece I'm working on right now: RE: Raman's Sketchbook - Saraiza - 10-02-2012 Awesome Stuff! I like your use of colors, and those concepts are great! environments, comics, illustration, concepts.. is there something you can't do o.O? :D nothing left to say, keep on pushing, I love your work :) RE: Raman's Sketchbook - Raman Djafari - 10-02-2012 @ Saraiza: Thank you very much. Feels good to hear stuff like that from time to time. :) Four little character animations i did a couple of month ago. RE: Raman's Sketchbook - Vigil - 10-02-2012 Love the environments you got there :) RE: Raman's Sketchbook - Kike Rdz - 10-02-2012 man, the last character animation is awesome , you did that in photoshop? RE: Raman's Sketchbook - Raman Djafari - 10-03-2012 @ Vigil: Oh thanks :) I kinda feel like environments are actually my biggest weakness. @Kike Rdz: Thank you. No, I drew and animated the characters in flash. The finished piece: RE: Raman's Sketchbook - Camron - 10-03-2012 dude freaking sweet sketchbook , i want more O_O RE: Raman's Sketchbook - Raman Djafari - 10-09-2012 @Camron: Thanks man :) sketchbook stuff RE: Raman's Sketchbook - Lumens - 10-09-2012 Lovely work, you're very well rounded. RE: Raman's Sketchbook - shamandalie - 11-13-2012 Wow, great stuff here! I like your sense of color. Beautiful studies too! Looking forward to see more of your works :) RE: Raman's Sketchbook - mindwrack - 11-14-2012 nice work here, particularly on those figures! in terms of the landscape i think your atmospheric perspective could use some work, try to remember still show three dimensional form when they are further away, the value ranges just get closer together, look forward to seeing more though! RE: Raman's Sketchbook - Lumens - 11-15-2012 You're too kind. ^__^ I have many flaws.. i saw your craig manchess study, now this is the right kind of guy you can learn color from and you can't beat the masters. Speaking of craig mullins, someone posted an incredible pdf on mullins notes on painting in the recources thread last page. Also to be honest, the very last picture i posted that is crazy saturated is altered with ''hdr toning '' adjustment in cs5 to get it to be so smooth. RE: Raman's Sketchbook - Raman Djafari - 11-19-2012 @deerandfox: Thanks. Glad you like it :) @shamandalie:thank you. @mindwrack: yeah you're right. i feel like there are some really important fundamentals of environmental painting i do not understand yet. thanks for the advice :) @Lumens: :D thanks for the hint, i will definately take a look at it. btw... just read trough the rgb tutorial/analysis you postet in your threat. amazingly interessting stuff! thanks a lot! studies random stuff life drawing sketching RE: Raman's Sketchbook - Jkutz - 11-19-2012 beautifully eclectic body of work.
