Okay, I'm new to this forum and I want to keep this introduction as simple as possible.
This is my sketchbook, I will be posting sketch's and studies. I also feel awkward typing out an intro for this thread since I really don't know what to say, so without further a do I will begin.

Good start to your sb I'd like ot see it updated more regurlarly. Looking at your work, I see you are doing freehand perspective sketching, I think your lines could benefit a little from just practicing drawing straight lines on a piece of paper, getting the elbow swinging motion down. I like your pencil page of shaded sketches and would like to see some more of those as well, as you seem to have fun with them :).
Sorry for not getting back to you (and for a small essay lol) after you commented on my sketchbook, I have just moved from france back to England, so been a little busy. As for your question about the perspective box being big in my memory exercise, I made it big as a 3d perspective reference, that was all it was for.

Keep pushing yourself and working hard and if you would like me to give any input on your sketchbook whe you have new posts, drop by my sketchbook or send me a PM.

And so I update again! This time my scanner was acting kinda funny, so I decided to take pictures of my physical sketches(I hope thats ok Redface ). I decide it be best to have fun with some grey marker pens(warm and cool) that I had. Mostly due after watching a video by scott robertson where he used traditional medium(markers and some gouace) to render a vehicle that was previously done in photoshop.

Other than this, I took it on my self to practice some digital from life(making sure I take about an hour when doing these studies) and creating something that should be done within two weeks at most, this being the WIP.

I continue my studies whilst doing some fan art. The predators were done in ink and brush(I was watched the movie Predators). I timed myself while doing the study with the TV in it and a veiw outside the window. Then I made some Pokemon fan art after seeing artwork made from what people would interpret from the Pokemon sprite fusion generator(http://pokemon.alexonsager.net/). Which led me to create the "Oddking". Since I wanted to have my go on this. I did view this as an exercise in my rendering and imagination or design(idk). I think I need to work more on my hand-eye coordination since I work off a small wacom intuos 4.

Fell behind drawing challenge with me obessing over certain drawings. X_X Need to catch up and not complicate things...even though I'm already complicating thirteen "Comic".

I would highly suggest that you continue on 100% with the more constructive posts that you've been doing. Like the anatomy deconstruction using shapes.

It would benefit you greatly in the long run to continue doing a bunch of gestural drawing, and construction as well as learning to break the forms down into simple shapes.

One thing that helped me a bunch of course was Loomis and Bridgman, but also it is very beneficial to just look at art. Just look at art you enjoy, save it, make folders of references, artists, etc. Just exposure to art, especially art that you specifically enjoy (and I know this will change constantly) can help greatly.

Once you've established what type of art you are striving for, I would actually suggest you try to either copy it right out, or copy for a bit, and then start to do something using the same techniques. This seems to have helped me quite a bit.

Also, drawing from life helps a bunch too because it helps you to see the forms in 3D space.
Other than that, I would suggest you to stray (at least in the beginning) away from heavily textured brushes when painting in Photoshop because it can muddy up your painting really fast. I would suggest to start with either a simple round or simple square just to learn the tools a bit better before diving into heavily textured brushes.

Other than that, just keep on experimenting. Try vine charcoal, try paint, try ink, try pencils. Just play with it all, mix them, etc. Whatever it takes to get your creativity out.

To sum up: Continue studying proper anatomy before you can break the rules. Experiment with media.

seeing some really great progress just on this last page, an increase in your ability to see value and drawing is improving, in certain places though your values could do with a little work to make sure the object in the foreground isn't the same value as the one in the mid or background.

Keep up the hard work!
