HHHEHEEY Did a little crit for ya! Make sure you define a clear light source, but more importantly understand the surface you are rendering with the knowledge of proper planes. Remember that reflected light can never be more powerful than the light it is reflecting. The middle crit is something i suggest you strive for before adding color. If you get that right, adding color takes like 5 minutes and is just effortless.
I used your same palette and just a colorize layer, so your skin tones are good, don't worry, you're picking good colors! I did a little trick i usually do however which is where i magic wand tool a random area, then hit up a color adjust and slide it towards more blue contrast, then blend it. Just a preference, but you shouldn't think of color as hard, structure and value is hard, get that right and you can do whatever the hell you want with color and it'll work
Just google image John Asaro if you don't believe me when i say color is whatever you want it to be; it's all in values, which is rooted in structure.
The best exercise is just finding the simplest planes and shapes possible in skull photos; Even tracing it. May sound silly but it super helped me!
