Keep at it with the landscapes. It may be worth your while doing a few photo studies, paying real close attention to how atmospheric perspective shifts colour. You'll probably find that your colours tend towards blue, get lighter, and less saturated. Also, master studies will help you immensely with your composition. Really pleased to see you having a go at the gouache; I know I've been pushing the idea. You may find that you don't get good coverage on the canvas boards. I'd recommend painting on paper. Watercolour paper, which tends to be around 300 gsm, should be just fine.
