I agree with Darkiste; Dont make the same mistake i did and go painting so much so early. I know your friends or family will probably tell you it looks cool but you'll progress much faster if you get very familiar with the pencil. This can really save you years of pain if you take it seriously and focus on the most fundamental basic things like head drawing, figures, and perspective. Painting is just icing on the cake and i've learned that lesson the hard way, just a fair warning
