I always like seeing people studying, almost more than finished pieces
I don't know much about landscapes but yeah.... You really should do the entire landscapes so instead of just drawing lots of clouds and grass you will figure out how they fit into the scene. how the grass will be different colors in different places. Once you start to figure out how the different parts of the scene fit together you start to get a sense of the character of the piece if that makes any sense.
I could only see that being beneficial anyway
