darktiste: Thank you kindly for the positive words! I like the idea of a hand challenge, I think I can improve my ability in hand drawing a bit so I'll give it a try soon, great suggestion! :)
Lillen: Thank you kindly, I'm a fan of your works as well so I'm really humbled with your comments! Your critiques are excellent as well, went ahead and made changes to the illustration, hopefully it's an improvement. Regarding the references, I used a paid one from Graft Studio so I don' think I'm allowed to post it since it wasn't free stock unfortunately.
Daft Sketch: Hola! I'm really glad to hear I've improved, that's the goal! :) I like your suggestions as well in regards to sculpting the body and such, I'll try to do more of those in between the larger finished work. Great book suggestion as well, I believe I have a copy but haven't had much time to read it just yet, but I'll begin sometime in the future.
As for my "art parents", I have a lot of inspirations. Growing up they were Alex Ross, Boris Vallejo, and Julie Bell mostly. I loved how lifelike and realistic their images looked, was very impressed with their paintings. Digitally I've had a quite a few as well, including Linda Bergkvist, Robert Chang, Henning Ludvigsen, Natascha Raoosli, and Melanie Delon. Basically a ton of fantasy artists :)
Currently I really admire the artists from 'Magic The Gathering', especially the works of Chris Rallis, Cynthia Sheppard, and Martina Fackova.
Thanks again for the suggestions and for stopping by, very much appreciate it!
....................
I had to teak a break as I had issues with my mental health once again. I'm focusing more on self-care and less on work related projects at the moment to help keep me balanced, and it seems to be working fine so far. I had time to refine the current image and do some studies:
I also started work on a new image. Initially this was going to be a simple photo study, but I decided to do something more creative and went for a depiction of villains from the 'Batman' series, and I think it worked quite well. This image is quite complex as I spent quite some time on the sketch alone, but I'm very happy with it and look forward to begin painting it shortly. Before I begin however any feedback would be appreciated, so if something looks off or can be improved, please feel free to let me know! Below is the sketch followed by the reference:
