Busy Dad Draws

Been a few weeks since I've posted. Unfortunately, I've had to deal with some illnesses in the family, which took up most of my free time. Thankfully, things are slowly getting back to normal, and I've had some much needed time for practicing art.

Started my practice thinking I'd work on learning more photoshop, and I did get some practice in masks, selections and levels/color adjustments. But honestly, I feel like just practicing that on its own sake is not the best use of my time. Better to learn when applying something practical on what I'm working on. Long story short, I just spent one or two days on it, lol.

I used the rest of my time practicing the simplified skeleton for figure drawing. I feel like I'm getting the hang of it, but lots of room for improvement. Next time around, I think I'll focus more on the torso and proper proportions of the ribcage and pelvis. But so far so good. 

I also changed my approach to gestures, and I'm pretty happy with it at this point.

This coming week I'm focused back on perspective. I got the perspective sketching course from CTRL+Paint, so we'll see how that goes along.
