Drawing things on a smaller scale.

I don't really know the full context but the pencil measuring method really only works at a larger scale. Any length less than like an inch down the pencil is going to be really inaccurate in my experience. So I guess you'd have to be drawing a really big pen.

So it's better to draw such small things more by eye?
