Hi Jaye, thank you for checking out my sketchbook thread! I'm glad you like them. I've took a pause as I head back into learning about digital. I've got so many pictures I haven't finished, yet. I feel a bit bored off them, but I'll imagine I'll return at a much slowed-down pace. Finishing work is a recent goal of mine!
After a lengthy break, I finally returned to the official CSP digital painting course. I think I finally figured out the auto selection and selection tools! So, that makes things a lot quicker. Took my time to try and recreate a transparent sphere as in her Tesslyn's tutorial. IIRC, She went back and forth with the oil and gouache brushes- I tried to repeat, but the brushes weren't functioning as her would. I'm having the issue of finding a brush that gives me the colour I want 'straight away' without pressing super hard or looking 'watery'.

I started with using the WonderWoman sketch as the basis for the demos as she went along, switched it to the Apollo pics, but the 'Colorize' auto fill was off and with so many layers/folders I switched back to Diana for ease of convenience.
Here's the first attempt after using 'colorise' and a 'gradient map' that created a new layer that had something I could use. I liked it at the beginning, but noticed the integrity of the sketch was lost. I, for example, wanted to see her hands from the originally sketch. I also didn't know how to remove the pink blurry section without getting frustrated.

As a result I lost interest and started again, pretty much. I duplicated the sketch layer and moved it to the side for easy ref. And, she rendered this out using layers I created then merged and going back and forth using 'Add glow' and 'Multiple' as/when needed. I didn't know that was even an option for rendering in digital, until I saw the demo. Still don't really know what I'm doing, but at least I'm getting somewhere, now.

Paused that to try and create a poster for an art gallery. Everything was great, until it came to add to adding text. My GOODNESS typography is hard in CSP! When people say it's suited for painting rather than (photo) editing, totes get that now. Could insert a handwritten text in then traceover with the figure tool, but this is a free poster. So, I don't want to put that much effort into it. Getting back into it was hard, wow if you don't use digital a lot, you really can lose it.

PS: Oh my word, all CSP.jpgs uploaded without me having to use imgur. Was this a patch or was my filesize low enough?
