Yo respect CG for sketching smth as complex as a person riding a horse without references, I think the overal sketch is good. I hope you dont mind that I added a rough paint over. I "denoised" some areas that took a bit of the graphic read. For example the hair shape / volume and the coat that created some non optimal overlapses. The bracket / band from the horses head I believe has a twist when its folded that vertical. Im not too sure about my version of the horse head either but I believe in the profile view the head is a bit more narrow.
One last small note ( this is just my personal preference ) for the armor piece of the horse, it could be cool to give it
some type of icon, coat of arms, symbol, heraldry ( sorry I dont know the correct english term for it ) which is related to the characters origin. For the comp: just by shifting the horizon line or setting some extreme light set up you can have a dynamic compositon without relying on too many foreground details. You can maybe add some different armor pieces
( gloves, shoulderpads ) in the foreground to have a bit more variety unless the sword is important for your story.
Keep up the good work!
