Nice start to your sketchbook and welcome to CDaggers, :)
I really like the line quality of the figures on the top right and bottom from your imagination! You don't seem to be 'petting' or going over your lines as much as the figures drawn from reference, which is awesome.
I find blind contour studies/normal contour studies help with trying to overcome chicken scratching & petting lines. Also, I find these warm-up exercises are great: http://forums.conceptart.org/showthread....nt-1-amp-2
