Great work for one so young!
Keep practicing anatomy from reference, especially heads if you want to do portraits.
Problem with the medusa piece is structure, Andrew Loomis book how to draw the head and hands can help you here.
Top of the head is too "flat", squashed, as you haven't drawn out where the skull would fit. Eyes are too big, common mistake with beginners, myself included!
I feel the approach you're taking is causing problems here - at first it's good at least to draw out your painting, so you get all the proportions correct before jumping in with paint.
Either that or practice a whole ton of "jumping in with paint" from reference portraits.
