Your latest piece for the Miyazaki poster is a serious step up from your previous work in this sketchbook. I think your effort to make exploratory thumbnails and shoot your own reference really paid off in a big way in the final piece. Great job!
I think the landscape is actually pretty good. You could be a little more daring with saturated color (i.e. not follow the photo so closely) but overall the image is quite well done. Check out Rob Ruppel's blog as well, if you have not. He has a great approach to landscape that shares some similarities to Shaddy's techniques. Hope it helps and keep up the great work!
