Solid updates man. In my opinion you should do more kind of studies like the firs one in post #511 plus application and practice. I started to do this very recently and it works pretty good. Oh and try to pay more attention to values on your painting and i have the feeling that you go to monochromatic with your colour. I allowed myself to do you quick overpainting to show what i mean.
