Awesome man. The comp works ok. Maybe you could try angling the sword more towards the other corner (across her body) to really push that diagonal flow. Experiment with it anyway. Also feel you could use some background shapes to help make it a little less symmetric at the top, but it's not too bad really. Watch her hand size..massive.
About the face sketch, one thing to watch out for and I think will help you push a whole bunch of skills at once, is to think about facial expression and emotion. So often we see awesomely rendered images with just dead pan expressions. Boring! Once you get over the technical hurdles, you start to think about what the heck is the point of painting unless you are getting across some emotion. If you can start working on that now, it will totally help down the line.
Also I hope you use your recent hair studies and application to this!
