Hi everyone,
I see this is where most people went after Concept Art fell through. I wanted to make a new sketchbook so I have a place to put my explorations and studies aside from my finished works. To describe my career aims, I don't want to be a concept artist or an illustrator, my goal is to become an imaginative fine artist the likes of which are featured in High Fructose and similar publications. I have been more or less adopted by the visionary art movement and I feel a camaraderie to the artists involved with that movement. My interests in art are diverse, but I most strongly enjoy visionary art, psychedelic art, fantastic realism, and surrealism.
I posted a thread of some of my finished works here: http://crimsondaggers.com/forum/thread-2965.html
You can see more of my artwork, including more recent artworks, at http://www.kobrinart.com/ and https://facebook.com/jkobrinart
I recently entered back into study mode, for some reason my confidence shifted or I began to realize my own shortcomings. I recently began studying at the Sadie Valeri Atelier in San Francisco. I will continue to do more explorative and study-related works in addition to my focused portfolio pieces, something I have neglected to do over the past number of months. I have been touring as a live painter, something I very much enjoy, over the summer but now that that season is ending and I am doing less events I want to focus on my development as an artist.
Here are some of my sketches, live paintings, and studies:
Live painting I titled "Better Living Through Chemistry" Acrylic on Canvas
Corel Painter experiment:
Digital live painting:
Studying the properties of labradorite:
Digital live painting:
Linework for painting:
Pen sketch:
Portrait of my dog:
Figure drawings (both of the same model):
As I make more sketches and studies I will post them here.
I hope you enjoy.
Much love,
Jake
