We all know that those should go hand in hand.But most of the time it appears that it doesn't ,at least to me.There are sites like DA that give ungodly amount of popularity to artists that harshly said aren't on the same level as others that die in the shadows.The more I improve in my craft the more I see people who lack a lot of understanding in the basics and yet get even professional work.Now you can call me a whiney kid that simply goes "that isn't fair".And you would be right.But somehow it seems that there is no "justice" to it.What are your thoughts ?

In this industry "Professional" not always means quality or technique (Rob Liefeld)
A lot of people is getting paid everyday for doing awful artwork, and at the same time you will see a lot of people who do extreme good pictures but prefers to stay amateurs.
Also dont waste your time thinking about popularity on DA, look at that site like a showcase, where you can "throw" your stuff but dont expect too much acclaim if you are not really good or if your gallery isnt full of furry porn or sonic/my little pony etc...
